Description
The Research assignment, funded by Regione del Veneto, concerns the performance of the research activity specified as follows: the appointed person’s activities involve conducting laboratory, semi-field, and full-field research to promote integrated pest management andbiological control of harmful phytophagous insects affecting agricultural crops, with particular reference to fruit trees. The research will focus onthe complex of natural antagonists of Halyomorpha halys and on monitoring pest populations in Veneto. Experiments will be conducted toassess the effects of environmentally friendly techniques, as alternatives to chemical control, aimed at reducing damage caused by the brownmarmorated stink bug and other pests. The research fellow will contribute to defining experimental plans, collecting and analyzing experimentaldata using appropriate statistical methods, and will be required to draft reports and scientific publications.
