Monte Carlo Simulations for Dosimetric and Microdosimetric Analysis in Minibeam Radiation Therapy (MBRT)
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
02/PHYS-06 - Physics For Life Sciences, Environment, And Cultural Heritage, Physics Education And History Of Physics
Description
The planned research activities include the design and implementation ofMonte Carlo simulations (using the Geant4 code) to replicate electron andproton minibeam configurations, including peak and valley distributionsand detector geometries. Microdosimetric spectra and radiation qualityparameters (e.g., LET, dose distributions at the micrometer scale, peak-tovalley ratio) will be generated and analyzed at critical locations within theminibeam pattern, and automated analysis pipelines will be developed forprocessing Monte Carlo data and visualizing dose profiles. The simulation models will be validated by comparing results with existingexperimental datasets (measurements using radiocromic film and SiCdetectors), estimating uncertainties and sensitivity of the dosimetricparameters."
