Description
Photosynthesis and respiration are closely linked processes in plant metabolism, but the mechanisms of communication between mitochondria and chloroplasts are still poorly understood. The InMeta project studies these interactions in the moss Physcomitrium patens, which allows the analysis of otherwise lethal mitochondrial mutants. By examining how respiratory defects affect photosynthesis and cellular energy, the project aims to clarify mitochondria–chloroplast cross-talk and improve crop roductivity.
