Description

The research project aims at collecting original data, derived from field sampling and tank manipulations, addressed to evaluate microplastic pollution in coastal sabellariid ecosystems, mainly in the Mediterranean area.In tank manipulations will be subordinate to the field work and will be carried out in the DSTA laboratories. Laboratory analyses will follow literature protocols, aimed at extracting and quantifying microplastics from complex environmental matrices. The candidate will carry out both sampling and laboratory preparations, as well as analyses; some analytical phases will be carried out in collaboration with national and international specialists. Collected results will be presented at national and international conferences and will be part of scientific articles to be submitted to specialist journals. At least two scientific articles are expected for the present research.
