Position: Research appointment (pre-doc) Institute: Polytechnic of Milano
Posted on: 04/02/2026 Deadline: 09/03/2026

Scientific-Disciplinary Group

09/IIND-08 - Electrical Energy Engineering

Description

The research program focuses on the operation of power distribution networks, with particular attention to local flexibility solutions applicable in urban scenarios. To this end, the functional requirements of flexibility services, along with potential market models and remuneration schemes, will be investigated. The benefits achievable through local flexibility services will be assessed from a technical perspective, considering the technological solutions commercially available at both medium-voltage and low-voltage levels with particular reference to the Italian scenario. The analyses will provide also the development of suitable numerical models of the power grid and of relevant components, to evaluate possible criteria for the operation and planning of the networks in the presence of an increasing amount of distributed generation and load, through the utilization of local flexibility services.
