Development of deformable mirrors for laser applications based on electromagnetic actuators
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IIND-08 - Electrical Energy Engineering
Description
The Research Assignment, funded by the Department of Industrial Engineering, has as its object the development a deformable mirror for real-time optical corrections using electromagnetic actuators. This effectively compensates for wavefront distortions, ensuring greater precision and reliability than solutions based on piezoelectric or MEMS actuators. Specifically, electromagnetic actuators offer a wider mechanical stroke, higher density, and superior actuation force, key elements for dynamic and accurate correction. The mirror will be designed with an innovative optomechanical structure divided into two independent subassemblies, facilitating the replacement of the reflective membrane.
