Description

Sample Centralization and Analysis In continuation of last year’s work, I centralized new biological samples from recently enrolled patients, tracking, storing, and recording them at the Human Microbiomics Unit. Fecal DNA was extracted and the V3–V4 region of 16S rRNA sequenced to profile gut microbiota diversity. For 132 previously collected samples, high-depth metagenomic shotgun sequencing was performed, with quality control and preprocessing. Bioinformatic pipelines enabled species- and strain-level profiling and reconstruction of patient-specific bacterial genomes (MAGs). Functional analyses identified potential gene drivers related to clinical outcomes, focusing on metabolic pathways and antibiotic resistance genes.
