Description

The research project aims to study and analyze how misinformation, and in particular how racial hoaxes about immigrants, can perpetuate and reinforce stereotypes. In this regard, it seeks to detect psycho-social variables associated with online credulity, particularly concerning so-called digital natives. Additionally, the research has the further objective of developing a web app to be tested in middle and high schools with the goal of encouraging students to reflect on credulity and prejudice. For this reason, the research requires knowledge of experimental detection methods, advanced quantitative data analysis (SPSS), and both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Specifically, it requires knowledge of paper-and-pencil coding methods for the subsequent measurement of metrics as well as software such as Lexico5, LIWC2022, and TLab.
