Description

The research project aims to systematically study the design and synthesis of high-power microwave filters intended for advanced telecommunications applications. The main objective is to develop innovative solutions capable of providing the required performance under high-power conditions, where heating phenomena and electrical discharges represent significant challenges. The project is dedicated to modern communication infrastructures, such as satellite systems and high-capacity wireless links, which require increasingly efficient and compact components. The research activity focuses on the theoretical and numerical study of the physical phenomena that limit the performance of high-power filters, such as the concentration of electric fields and stored energy. The activity will include the study of circuit-based methods to reduce these effects, through design and optimization techniques involving transformations and manipulation of the desired response.
