Description

Immersive technologies such as VR/AR/MR are revolutionising the way humans learn movements or actions, develop new devices, and test new technical solutions or working methods. The application of these technologies is gaining ground in industry, but it is in the field of sport that the most innovative and cutting-edge developments are being seen. This research programme aims to explore the use of immersive solutions in sports by developing applications and exergames in Unity and a physics engine based on Project Chrono. These applications aim to assess the level of embodiment and motion sickness when using XR solutions for technical improvement exercises in winter sports (mainly bobsleigh and skeleton), gymnastics and motorsport. During the research process, markerless solutions will be used to map the behaviour of the people involved in the tests, as well as PKM mobile platforms.
