Description

In this research project the candidate is supposed to develop new compatible finite volume (FV) and discontinuous Galerkin (DG) finite element discretizations of nonlinear systems of hyperbolic conservation laws, with particular emphasis on the preservation of stationary differential constraints (involutions) for the magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations and the equations of nonlinear hyperelasticity.
