Description
This project aims to dissect chromatin patterns and regulatory mechanisms sustaining metastatic cells survival in response to hostile environments that they encounter once disseminated to distal organs. Using in vitro tumoroids resembling the features of disseminated cancer cells (DTCs), within this project we will determine the contribution of cancer-related chromatin factors to increase DTC fitness in response to NK-mediated cytotoxicity. Specifically, we will investigate whether specific chromatin factors can increase the ecDNA heterogeneity characterizing metastatic cells, thus augmenting their diversity and cellular responsiveness to NK challenges...
