Numerical-experimental procedures for the identification of composite material structtural response - 2026_IDR_DAER_3
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IIND-01 - Aerospace Engineering And Naval Architecture
Description
The design and analysis of composite structures in the automotive and aerospace sectors require the development of efficient procedures for creating and calibrating material models capable of representing structural response in the presence of diffuse damage and fractures. This research program aims to develop automated processes for model identification and calibration based on a database of static and dynamic experimental tests, thereby minimizing the number of tests required and making models available for specific applications. The activity will focus on polymer and/or graphite matrix composite laminates, leveraging existing experimental data, which will be supplemented with further tests to evaluate shear response and intralaminar fracture toughness. Parameterized Finite Element models of tests will be developed and subsequently used for identification,
