Intelligent technologies for monitoring resiliente mountain and aquatic ecosystems
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
07/MVET-02 - Veterinary Pathology And Inspection Of Foods Of Animal Origin
Description
this project introduces a system for biomonitoring marine ecosystems based on the analysis of extracellular vesicles, natural nanoparticles involved in numerous physiological and pathological processes.the role of EVs isolated from mollusks (Ruditapes philippinarum) will be investigated, first in an experimental setting and then in a natural environment, following brief, controlled treatments with natural and biodegradable molecules (chemical priming) that may enhance resilience to thermal stress and pathogens.the project will pioneer the exploration of EVs as indicators of the health status of marine mammals by isolating and analyzing EVs from dolphin exhalations collected in both controlled and natural environments, comparing the results in relation to environmental characteristics. The project will provide knowledge and solutions within a One Health framework, contributing to the of the Venetian blue economy in the context of global warming and environmental stress factors.
