Description
The candidate will develop a highly sensitive ultrafast optical spectroscopy system based on synchronized few-optical-cycle (10-20 fs) pulses with broad tunability from the infrared to the ultraviolet. The candidate will then use this system to study ultrafast processes in the excited states of biomolecules mediated by conical intersections.
