Signal Processing Methodologies for Audio Transducers - 2026_IDR_DEIB_23
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IINF-03 - Telecommunications
Description
The research program focuses on the study and modeling of audio transducers, in particular microphones and loudspeakers, with specific attention to MEMS-based transducers. The activities include the experimental characterization and the analysis of linear, nonlinear, and spatial behavior, with particular emphasis on directivity.A significant focus is devoted to audio transducers in array configurations, especially in embedded systems and small-scale devices, including wearables. Electrical equivalent–based models will be developed to support the analysis of the performance of individual elements and multi-transducer configurations.Based on the derived models, signal processing algorithms for the compensation of non-idealities (equalization, distortion reduction) and beamforming algorithms for audio transducer arrays will be designed.
