Scientific-Disciplinary Group
11/PAED-01 - Pedagogy And History Of Pedagogy And Education
Description
Study and theoretical definition of the rewriting of classics within the field of children’s literature. It seeks to contribute to critical reflection on a genre that occupies a central position in contemporary literary and publishing production for young readers. Three principal lines of inquiry:the analysis of the metanarrative strategies employed in the rewriting of classics, with particular attention to their functions and to the specific connotations they assume in texts addressed to a child readership;the study of the uses of irony, with the aim of examining its narrative, interpretative, and formative role within processes of rewriting;an in-depth exploration of the relationship between watering down, conditioning, and adaptation of classical texts for children, in order to understand the dynamics governing such practices and the modes of representation of the classics within the contemporary children’s publishing market.
