Description

The proposed research activity lies within the fields of bio-photonics and plasmonics and focuses on the study and control of light–matter interaction processes in biological systems based on Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET). The main objective is to investigate how a suitably engineered local electromagnetic environment can modulate, in a controlled manner, the radiative and non-radiative channels involved in energy transfer processes in complex biological systems.
