Description
The candidate will collaborate on a research project ´focused on the characterization lignocellulosic waste materials through laboratory and spectroscopic analyses, with the aim of developing predictive models to support fermentation experiments. The planned activities will include sample collection and preparation, the execution of physico-chemical and spectroscopic analyses (e.g., NIR, FTIR), as well as the processing and interpretation of experimental data. The candidate will also contribute to the development and validation of statistical and machine learning models for predicting material properties and monitoring biomass transformation during fermentation with ligninolytic fungi. Finally, the role will involve the implementation and management of fermentation processes, from experimental planning using Design of Experiments (DoE) to the practical setup of experimental trials.
