The project analyses the phenomenon of short-term tourist rentals in Piedmont, focusing on Turin, the Langhe and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, a practice often facilitated by digital platforms, which has a significant impact on the social and economic context. The aim is to assess the impact on urban transformation processes determined by short-term tourist flows.An essential part of the study will be an in-depth analysis of certain European regulatory models, concerning significant experiences, such as those of Paris and Barcelona, which have addressed similar critical issues with different regulatory approaches.The study will propose recommendations for the improvement of short-term rental regulation, making it more effective, sustainable, and attentive to local specifics. This will help to balance the needs of the tourism market, which is undoubtedly a strategic part of Piedmont's economic, with the right to housing and the sustainability of tourism
