Black Holes and The Quantum
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
02/PHYS-02 - Theoretical Physics Of Fundamental Interactions, Models, Mathematical Methods And Applications
Description
The proposed research aims to address known issues in classical gravity and in standard models of regular black holes by rethinking the concept of a quantum black hole. Within the coherent state approach to quantum gravity, the classical singularity is replaced by an integrable one, where all physical observables remain finite, leading to a black hole geometry with a macroscopic quantum core. The size of this core regulates quantum gravity effects and controls the deviations from General Relativity even outside the event horizon. The project aims to extend this framework to rotating black holes, study their geometry and thermodynamic properties, and clarify the physical nature of the emerging quantum cores.
