Scientific-Disciplinary Group
07/AGRI-05 - Plant Pathology And Entomology
Description
The correct identification of harmful species is of fundamental importance for the proper development of control strategies within precision agriculture. In recent years, in the Capitanata area, increasing damage to crops has been reported due to the attack of severalinsect pest species, including the tomato russet mite, which is characterized by very small size and difficult detection at early stages of infestation. This research project will focus on the optimization of monitoring tools and methods of phytophagous pests affecting processing tomato crops in the Capitanata area, with particular emphasis on the tomato russet mite.
