Description

The research activity will concern:i) The development and implementation of finite element modelling strategies (beam and continuum formulations) for the structural characterization of continuous fiber-reinforced additively manufactured prosthetic feet, with specific reference to stiffness and energy storage-and-return performance under loading conditions representative of the gait cycle;ii) The definition and application of a stiffness-driven design and optimization framework, based on parametric modelling of geometry and composite architecture, aimed at weight minimization and at the achievement of predefined mechanical performance requirements;iii) The experimental validation and calibration of the numerical models through mechanical testing of additively manufactured specimens and full-scale prototypes, including the assessment of modelling accuracy and structural integrity.
