Description
The research activity deals with the application of thermal methods for evaluating defects/damages in metallic materials produced by Additive Manufacturing. In this regard, active thermographic techniques will be used such as: Thermoelastic Stress Analysis (TSA). The first part of the project consists of investigating the test parameters defining the best experimental set-up and the equipment (loads, frequency, integration time, etc.).The main activity of the second part regards the use of Artificial Intelligent algorithms for extracting the thermal features capable of characterizing damage under fatigue loading. In particular, advanced algorithms will be used for processing the thermal sequence, improving the signal to noise ratio, and obtaining quantitativeresults.
