One day screening for NASH

Description

Over the course of the project, approximately 500 adult patients of both sexes with a pre-diagnosed MS, referred by general practitioners or other specialists, will undergo one-day screening.Patients identified as being at high risk of fibrotic progression (estimated number n=180) will be referred to an individual and group lifestyle modification program with a cognitive-behavioral approach of proven efficacy. The remaining participants will be provided, at the end of the screening visit, with personalized recommendations on dietary and lifestyle modifications based on the questionnaire results.If data indicate the presence of liver cirrhosis, the patient will be referred to hepatology specialists at Policlinico S. Orsola.
