Description

The research activity focuses on the advanced numerical modeling of monitored buildings pertaining to the network of the Structural Seismic Observatory (OSS). The main objective is the transition from calibrated linear models to nonlinear models in the SAP2000 environment, in which damage to both structural and non-structural elements (e.g., infill walls) can be considered. The operative phases include:1. Conversion and implementation of existing structural models in SAP2000, defining appropriate nonlinear elements (links, plastic hinges, or fiber models).2. Recalibration (model updating) of mechanical and dynamic parameters by comparing numerical results with experimental data from continuous monitoring (using MuDI software).3. Definition of constitutive equations to capture material degradation and damage phenomena.4. Execution of nonlinear static and dynamic analyses for the validation of the implemented models.
