Scientific-Disciplinary Group
11/GEOG-01 - Geography
Description
The IR explores the theoretical and operational shift toward agroecology as a cornerstone of climate justice in Amazonian cities. Pathways for a just transition away from fossil fuels require scaling up agroecological practices moving from niche experiments to regional standards. International comparisons and mapping of "Agroecological Multitudes" can find diverse, local movements offering viable alternatives to extractivism. The methodological framework should facilitate navigate the transition from a carbon-heavy past (the Amazon at the edge) to a regenerative urban-forest future: the living Amazon.
