Development of high-throughput methods for deposition and characterization of photoelectrodes for solar conversion
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
02/PHYS-03 - Experimental Physics Of Matter And Applications
Description
The research project will focus on the fabrication and optimization of advanced thin-film materials and heterostructures for photoelectrochemical and photovoltaic applications, with particular emphasis on halide perovskites and metal oxide heterojunctions. The researcher will develop deposition strategies for compositionally graded and interface-engineered materials libraries using physical and chemical vapor-phase techniques. The activity will mainly address the controlled growth of functional absorber, passivation, and interfacial layers, with the aim of tuning composition, thickness, morphology, and band alignment. A major part of the work will be devoted to the structural, optical, and photoelectrochemical characterization of the deposited films and devices, in order to establish robust correlations between fabrication conditions, materials properties, and functional performance.
