Description

The activity focuses on UAV-assisted localization and user detection using RSSI- and Angle of Arrival (AoA)-based techniques. The goal is to enhance the accuracy and reliability of localization systems in complex and dynamic environments by leveraging the coordinated use of multiple drones and advanced radio signal processing methods. The activity includes the design of a multi-drone system architecture, the development and optimization of localization algorithms (including RSSI, hybrid RSSI/AoA, and synchronization-based approaches), and the definition of path planning and cooperative orchestration strategies. Furthermore, the proposed solutions will be validated through simulations and experimental campaigns using SDR platforms and UAV prototypes, targeting applications in search and rescue scenarios, environmental monitoring, and advanced communication networks.
