Atmospheric propagation of millimeter waves in satellite links with variable elevation angle - 2026_IDR_DEIB_36
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IINF-02 - Electromagnetic Fields
Description
The activity aims at studying algorithms and models for the analysis and prediction of propagation effects on millimeter radio waves (from Ka to W bands), mainly in NGSO satellite links. By using theoretical studies and/or physically based simulation and/or available experimental data, the propagation effects (in particular, attenuation) in satellite links with fixed and variable elevation angles will be characterized to implement models to predict them in systems with different characteristics (frequency, satellite orbits, sites with different climate). The activity will be focused also on the development of fade mitigation techniques such as orbital diversity and spatial diversity.
