Description

The research project aims to develop debris‑flow susceptibility models and to analyse slope and riverbank stability in interaction with road infrastructures across the Dominican Republic. The activities will address the problem at a territorial scale, focusing on the interaction between geomorphological hazard processes and linear infrastructures, with particular attention to road networks and fluvial corridors. The analyses will be implemented within a GIS‑based framework and will rely on distributed and synthetic modelling approaches, supported by statistical and physically informed methods. The final goal is to produce susceptibility maps to support infrastructure risk assessment and to inform mitigation and resilience strategies at the national scale.
