Design of a study protocol for in vitro evaluation of virucidal activity of modified clays and nanocomposites, and of an in situ experimental protocol for the application of prototypes as replacements for furnishing elements in nursing homes, with the aim of preventing healthcare-associated infections. Execution of environmental monitoring in nursing homes to detect and quantify microorganisms on surfaces, using both classical culture-based methods and innovative techniques.
