Description
This project examines the role of SMEs in the artisan sector as key drivers of regional development, with a specific focus on Piedmont, by placing the relationship between firm dynamics, skills and socio-economic transformations at the centre of analysis. The aim is to understand how processes of skill formation contribute to the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the regional production system. To this end, the research adopts an integrated design: it monitors the evolution of firms and their skill needs, while assessing the effectiveness of training provision in addressing ongoing transitions. The project relies on a mixed-methods approach, combining sample surveys, administrative data analysis and qualitative investigations. The expected outcome is the development of an interpretative framework capable of informing policies and instruments for territorial development, strengthening the contribution of SMEs in the artisan sector to economic growth.
