Investigation of transcription factors involved in therapy resistance in acute myeloid leukemias
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
06/MEDS-09 - Blood Diseases, Oncology And Rheumatology
Description
Therapy resistance is mediated by many factors, including cellular plasticity driven by transcription factors. The project involves the identification and study of transcription factors that may mediate resistance to therapies in acute myeloid leukemias, with a focus on the novel BCL-2 inhibitor venetoclax. The project will involve the use of molecular techniques (RT-PCR, immunofluorescence, western blot, ChIP) and cellular approaches (viability assays, use of inhibitors) to investigate the involvement of these factors in the cellular response to therapy and to identify molecular mechanisms activated by tumor cells to resist such treatments.
