Proprioceptive stimulation and body representation: developing and testing VIBRA-Kids system
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
05/BIOS-06 - Physiology, 11/PSIC-01 - General Psychology, Neuropsychology And Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychometrics
Description
The research fellow will contribute to the validation of the VIBRA-Kids system by investigating the effects of vibratory stimulation, auditory sonification, and their multisensory integration on brain plasticity in healthy adults. The candidate will design and run experimental protocols combining focal muscle vibration and movement-related auditory feedback, and will primarily employ fNIRS to assess neurophysiological changes. Analyses will focus on functional connectivity within sensorimotor networks, providing insights into training-induced cortical reorganization. The fellow will be responsible for data acquisition, preprocessing, and advanced statistical analysis, as well as contributing to the interpretation of results in relation to multisensory integration mechanisms. The position requires strong expertise in human neuroscience, signal processing, and experimental design, with the goal of establishing reliable, child-friendly markers of neuroplasticity.
