Analysis of multi-platform satellite thermal data for monitoring Stromboli volcano
Scientific-Disciplinary Group

Description
This project focuses on monitoring Stromboli’s volcanic activity by integrating multi-platform satellite thermal data (e.g., Sentinel-2, VIIRS, SEVIRI). The goal is to synergize high spatial resolution, ideal for mapping localized thermal anomalies and lava flows, with high temporal frequency, which is crucial for tracking rapid phenomena. By employing advanced processing algorithms, the project estimates key parameters such as radiant heat flux and effusion rates. This multi-sensor approach provides a robust tool for volcanic hazard assessment and real-time monitoring, overcoming the challenges of ground-based observations in hazardous or inaccessible summit areas.
