Description
The Italian Linguistic Atlas (ALI) has recently begun, with PNRR funding, to process the materials for its first ten volumes in order to make them available online and promote broader data sharing. As part of this project, a database called DigitALI has been created, containing the files of dialectal responses collected for each questionnaire entry and previously used for the printed volumes. A protocol has also been developed to adapt these materials for online consultation through a digital cartographic resource. So far, this process has been applied to nine of the ten published volumes; Volume IV remains excluded because the final print files are no longer available. The project therefore aims to reconstruct the missing files, adapt them according to established protocols, test new automatic or semi-automatic procedures with the digital editorial team, and support the development of advanced search queries.
