Description

The aim of this research project is to search, isolate and characterize novel lytic bacteriophages able to selectively target strains belonging to high-risk clones of Klebsiella pneumoniae. The project involves testing sewage wastewater on selected K. pneumoniae clinical strains to isolate novel bacteriophages, their purification and production at high titers, and the following characterization by a morphological, physiological, and genetic point of view.
