Description
The development of new polymeric materials to be used within additive manufacturing techniques, such as miniaturization of the pharmaceutical form, the customization of the dosage, and the unconventional and controlled release of the active ingredient ormultiple active ingredients, represents a primary subject of the current scientific and technological research. The possibility to modulate “on-demand” the characteristics of the material employed as the polymeric support, in order to confer specific “targeting”,“delivery” and diagnostic properties, can be obtained by a focused chemical functionalization through conjugation (click, coupling, etc.) and/or complexation reactions."
