Scientific-Disciplinary Group

02/PHYS-02 - Theoretical Physics Of Fundamental Interactions, Models, Mathematical Methods And Applications

Description

An exciting possibility in the near future of particle physics is the potential discovery of “feebly interacting particles” (FIPs). Potential searches for axions and other FIPs include both laboratory and astrophysical signals. The IR will be expected to perform original research on the possibility of probing FIPs in direct detection experiments and astrophysics. The IR will require the acquisition of expertise in:- astrophysical simulations;- state of the art in FIP direct detection;- knowledge of astrophysical data;- analytical and numerical calculation for astrophysics and terrestrial direct detection experiments
