Description
The Geographical Psychology of School Anxiety (GPS-A) project, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) through the Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (FIS), investigates how school anxiety varies across geographical and socio-ecological contexts and how these differences influence students’ mental health and academic achievement. The project combines educational psychology, geographical psychology, and advanced spatial analyses to study large-scale data from the Italian student population. GPS-A also includes school-based psychological interventions aimed at examining how environmental and territorial characteristics shape the effectiveness of anxiety-reduction strategies, with the goal of developing more effective and context-sensitive educational interventions.
