2026_IR_11_DEI – Data-driven methods for distributed state-estimation
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IINF-04 - Systems And Control Engineering
Description
In recent years, data-driven methodologies for the control and estimation of dynamical systems have gained increasing attention, driven by both theoretical advances and the availability of large amounts of data. The proposed project aims to develop new techniques for observability analysis and distributed state estimation directly from data, even in the presence of noise, disturbances, and unmeasured inputs. The objective is to define robust, scalable theoretical and algorithmic tools applicable to complex and interconnected systems such as smart grids, sensor networks, multi-robot systems, and cyber-physical infrastructures. Particular attention will be devoted to the development of distributed approaches for discrete-time systems, an area that remains only partially explored in the scientific literature. In this way, the project seeks to advance data-driven methodologies for real-world applications characterized by communication constraints, high dimensionality, and uncertainty...
