The research is carried out within the framework of the European project BRIDGE (Building Resilient Individuals through Effective Educational Transition by Formulating Robust Policy Recommendations on Education and Training), funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme. The project aims to develop evidence-based policy recommendations to improve participation in and completion of secondary and tertiary education pathways, while promoting equity and inclusion across European education systems.The research activity focuses on the development of predictive models for the early identification of schools and classes at risk of academic underachievement and dropout, with a specific application to the Italian school system. The study integrates data from INVALSI, the Italian Ministry of Education, and OECD-PISA, and employs econometric and machine-learning techniques adapted to multilevel data structures (students, classes, and schools).
