Description

Excitonic properties of moirè semiconductors composed of twisted bilayers of transition metal dichalcogenides; the research partner will be engaged in research activities focused on modeling the optical properties of moiré superlattices of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). The main activity involves the development and application of a multiscale framework to simulate the excitonic dynamics and optoelectronic properties of these materials. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for: implementing atomistic tight-binding models based on calculations from first principles (DFT and GW), implementing and solving Bloch's equations for semiconductors (SBEs) to study the optical out-of-equilibrium response (pump-probe) and using the Bethe-Salpeter equation (BSE) to describe static effects. A collaboration with experimental groups is planned (Elettra Sincrotrone)
