01/MATH-04 - Mathematical Physics

Description

This position is part of the “FIRST” project, which is dedicated to developing advanced services for forest fire management, with a particular focus on the early detection of potential fire outbreaks and the delineation of burned areas through the integration of data collected by ground-based sensors, drones, and satellite platforms. The project also includes the development of mathematical models aimed at simulating the evolution of the fire front and generating operational scenarios to support response activities. The candidate will be involved in the application and implementation of spatial geostatistical tools applied to satellite data for fire risk assessment. The role involves conducting simulations and analyses of the fire front, as well as creating risk maps and charts.
