Energy harvesting systems based on Plant-Microbial Fuel Cells (P-MFC) and sustainable materials for 3D-printed electronics.
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IINF-01 - Electronics
Description
Energy harvesting systems based on P-MFC and sustainable materials for 3D-printed electronics. Goal: models and solutions to power ultra-low-power embedded devices, leveraging P-MFC (zero maintenance) and selecting biodegradable substrates/inks for sustainable/compostable electronics via additive manufacturing. Activity 1: bio-electrochemical analysis, electrical modeling (voltage, current, power density), design/validation of bench-scale cells, and preliminary study of harvesting/energy management circuits. Activity 2: state-of-the-art on materials for 3D/hybrid printing (conductive, semiconductive, and insulating inks). Results: guidelines for P-MFC integration into low-power systems; optimal selection of materials/inks for printed electronics."
