Research and analysis of existing literature relating to the study area, survey of Quaternary geological formations, geomorphological surveys on the ground and through aerial drilling or other indirect techniques, collection of samples for dating or laboratory analysis and possible execution of some laboratory analyses.

The selection process involves evaluating qualifications, including a Master's degree or a single-cycle degree in Geological Sciences and Technologies (Degree Class LM-74) or equivalent, or a qualification obtained abroad recognized as equivalent, no more than six years previously. The candidate's CV will also be evaluated for its suitability for the proposed research activities.An oral interview will be conducted to assess the candidate's knowledge and educational and/or work experience relevant to the topics and activities envisaged in this research program and/or the required methodological approaches.
a) relevance and congruence of the study program with the research program being assigned (maximum score of 15);b) relevance or similarity and relevance of previous research activities and any work experience in relation to the research program being assigned (maximum score of 30);c) relevance or similarity and relevance of publications, theses, conference contributions, and other attached scientific products with the research program being assigned (maximum score of 15);d) oral interview to assess the candidate's aptitude and suitability for carrying out the research program being assigned, as well as to evaluate their knowledge of the English language (maximum score of 40).
