The research aims to investigate how the implementation of the industrial symbiosis approach by a firm can impact the supply chains of which it is part. Specifically, three aspects are examined:- how a firm’s decision to replace part of its production inputs with waste generated by another firm affects relationships with its conventional suppliers;- how contracts governing traditional supply relationships need to be revised in light of the implementation of industrial symbiosis;- whether and how the implementation of industrial symbiosis by a firm contributes to the resilience of the supply chains in which it operates.
