Pica Code IR-2026-047 - From Microscopic Interactions to Macroscopic Laws: Duality, Algebraic Structures and Universality in Interacting Particle Systems
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
01/MATH-04 - Mathematical Physics
Description
The research activity will focus on interacting particle systems out-of-equilibrium, with particular emphasis on the link between microscopic descriptions and emergent macroscopic laws. In particular, the project will aim at: (i) characterizing stationary measures for interacting systems with boundary reservoirs, including through generalizations of the Matrix Product Ansatz method; (ii) studying stochastic duality properties and algebraic structures associated with Markov processes arising in mathematical physics; (iii) analyzing scaling limits, hydrodynamic limits and2fluctuations of the models under consideration, with the goal of deriving partial differential equations and identifying universality classes. The activity will include the development of analytical and probabilistic methods, the production of original results, the writing of scientific papers, and participation in seminars and collaborative research activities
