Development and integration of AI and XR technologies for digital cognitive support systems
The research program aims to study, develop, and integrate Artificial Intelligence and Extended Reality technologies to create digital cognitive support systems within the SOPHIA project. The activities will concern the analysis of AI and XR solutions, the design of software modules for interaction with virtual avatars, the integration of generative models with immersive interfaces, and the experimentation of natural, personalized, and empathetic interaction modes with the user. Particular attention will be devoted to synchronizing text, voice, facial expressions, and avatar behavior, as well as to validating the developed solutions in application scenarios focused on cognitive support, active aging, and user well-being.
